Sleepy Time

"Twinkle, Twinkle little star...."

This is the sight I found when I went back into the kitchen to get C from her chair...binky just a going, hand propped up on her knee, other hand holding her cow, serious sleeping face in place.

Easy Bake and Garlic

So about 4 days before I had C, I got (another) brilliant idea. I was going to get an Easy To Grow Kit and grow....Cilantro !!! I mean, if I can grow a baby, I can grow cilantro right?

5/30/09 RIP Cilantro

You will be sorely missed.

You were doomed from the beginning.

So, as I'm making dinner last night, I pull out a clove garlic and realize it's GROWING a baby garlic (that's how long it's been in there). Hey....if it's already growing inside my refrigerator without any "help" from me, it should be even easier to grow then the Easy To Grow Kit Cilantro...Right ?!?

Out comes the dead cilantro, in goes the garlic, a little bit of water just for good measure, a kiss of good luck from C and I and here we go!

On a side note-I don't have a green thumb; good thing the whole baby thing is like an easy bake oven, just add water, stir and put it in the oven until the timer dings.

Twilight

So, the second movie of the Twilight Series comes out November 20,2009.
C and I have already read the whole series twice and are now re-reading New Moon in anticipation of the movie release.

We've had the conversation about being Team Jacob...however I think C has gone behind my back and become an Edward fan...what do you think?

"And so the lion fell in love with the lamb...What a stupid lamb...What a sick, masochistic lion"-Edward Cullen, Twilight, Chapter 13, pg. 274.
To be continued.....

The Bo's

I guess it's time to introduce the three Bo's and the Non-Bo.

The first year Mike and I were married we got Lilly Bo. The second year was celebrated with Tye Bo (aka Tucker). The third we moved into our house and the conversation one day went "Do we want a garage door opener...or a new dog" so next came Posie Bo. Then Tye Bo and Posie Bo made Mini, the Non-Bo.

Lost yet ? We skipped 2 years, and then came the baby...but Mike vetoed Carleigh Bo, so we settled on Carleigh Addison.

246

That was the number on the clock glaring back at me, like a math equation this morning when C woke up like a volcano with an eruption of screams. These just weren't any screams, these were the I'M HURTING screams - I've only heard these a few times. With a flury of covers and a mad dash to the bathroom (Posie in quick pursuit behind us) and after a quick examination : The Diagnose : Her little nose is all stopped up and she can't breathe too good.

Sigh of Relief from mommy

I change from Mommy hat to Doctor hat and administer saline drops to flush out her little nose.

Back to bed, soothe C with a bottle, and we're good to go.

Well, sort of. She's still a little stopped up this morning, but none worse for the wear.

Sara the Seahorse

Sara the Seahorse

Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders™ Soothe & Glow Seahorse™ is it's official name, however on my community chatboard, whattoexpect.com, all the mommies have named their babies seahorses'. Everything from Charlie to Sedgewick. Our's is Sara. This was the most toted item on the chat-board, EVERYBODY had to have one for their baby. It's supposedly a miracle toy that puts ALL babies to sleep....except mine. So, in spirit of all craziness associated with this horse from the sea, Sara took a trip around the house Flat Stanley style. Here were the pictures that followed.

The BUMBO

So I got this brilliant idea on my day off Tuesday to get C a Bumbo chair. As if she really needs another addition to her arsenal of baby gear. Ever seen a Bumbo? Often mimicked, but never duplicated I may say. Quite interesting contraptions. It's this little bitty squishy chair that you sit your little bitty person in and let them do their little bitty things in.

C loved it!
It's officially called The Bumbo Baby Sitter and is hailed as a "superior product" and it made of a low density foam material. So you know what that means. My little girl promptly tested out the sound amplification quality as soon as I put her in it, and even the comfortability factor by producing a big blowout diaper 5 minutes into her first Bumbo sitter experience. Good thing it's washable.

Three Little Ducks

It's amazing what amuses you once you become a mommy and the ideas you get. This morning, getting to sleep in finally, I woke up (ohh....about 10:30am finally....) and realized that I had a unique bed situation going on.

To my left was Carleigh, sound asleep in my arm. I'm in the middle. Posie (the dog) is on my immediate right, draped over my shoulder. C's Sara the Seahorse is in bed too with us, along with about 2 bottles, 1 pacifier, a burp cloth, and my cellphone.
The first thing I think of is a mother duck and her ducklings following her all around.
Looking at the picture below, looks like Mike'll be the one sleeping in C's crib....
